Short Story of Three Risk Takers

There were three friends. One of them never takes any risk and try toa avoid them. Another one always takes high risks and expect the outcome to be positive. The third one, takes calculated risks and try to be ready for both positive and negative consequences.

Now, You might have expected the third one to be more successful in the future. The first person who doesn’t take any risk grows really slow, miss many opportunities and is less successful. The second one who take high risks lose everything and if he got some success, it won’t take much time to fall down.

This story tells how your future depends on how you deal with risk. And it’s really important to understand the art of Risk-taking.

What is Risk? 4 types of Risk Takers

What is a Risk? Risk-taking simply means a decision or action that may involve or can lead to positive or negative consequences such as financial loss, social rejection, career failure, legal troubles, etc.

People usually take risks for a possible positive outcome. Risks also involve failure, but sometimes it’s important to risk and be ready to sacrifice something for something. Failure is sign that you’re growing. On the other hand, It also doesn’t mean that you should take stupid risks.

In short, something huge or little that involves a negative consequence, is a Risk.

4 types of Risk Takers

Every person has there own limits to which they can take risk. The Story in the above also tells, how your future depends on dealing with risks.

Here, I am elaborating 4 types of risk-taker:-

  1. Aggressive Risk-taker: A person who takes high or very high risks. He is not scared to take any risk and is goal-driven. But rememeber Gamblers and Daredevils are also Aggressive risk-takers.
  2. Moderate Risk-taker: An average risk-taker. He always takes calculated risks and keeps the negative consequences in his head. He is not scared of the negative consequence but is prepared for them. Good Entrepreneurs and Investors are usually moderate risk-taker.
  3. Moderately Conservative Risk-taker: A low risk taker. He is not very eager to take risk and only take risks when its necessary. Normal people and some business people can come to this category.
  4. Conservative Risk-taker: A very low risk taker. He always try to avoid any kind of risk. And play everything safe. They have less opportunities as compared to others because they mostly limit themselves.

What type of risk taking you do?

Whatever it is from above, your future depends on it. If you take really small risks, you will grow really slow. And If you take risks often and don’t afraid of any consequences, it can give success fast but in long-term it’s bad.

You should try to take risk while keeping the consequences in your head.

“Take a chance! All life is a chance. The man who goes the furthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare.” – Dale Carnegie

7 Reason why Risks taking leads to Success.

Here, I don’t mean every type of risk taking leads to success. Daredevils and Gamblers are also risk takers but they take risks aimlessly. You shouldn’t do stupid risk taking.

You have to be smart and take calculated risks in life and business. Here are some reasons, why:

1.You don’t get success by playing it safe.

If you still believe risk taking is usually bad and don’t help you get success, you might be wrong. Because not risk taking in life(playing it safe) can be worse. If a person live in his comfort zone and don’t make any effort or take and do any risk taking.

Then, probably it won’t ever fail in his life and when stop to fail or make mistakes, you stop to learn.

When you play it too safe, you slow down or stop your growth. Now that’s worse.

2.You learn from Risk taking .

Knowledge is important for success. Risk takers are able to attain such knowledge because they are willing to undergo a process that will provide such knowledge.Through such knowledge, they can navigate their future steps. And attaining of this knowledge usually requires taking risk.

When you take risks, you start to discover yourself and your inner strengths. You become smarter and get more and more experience through it all. You get new knowledge and garner through many processes, also become able to understand what you can and can’t do.

Your learnings through the way help you navigate to your goals and achieve it.

3. Embracing risk-taking helps you overcome the fear of Failure.

The more risks you take, the less you care about anything that can stop you. Break a big barrier between you and success, the fear of failure. You become unstoppable because risk-taking has strengthened your ability to grow no matter what.

As you break the mental block that stops you, from achieving your dreams and becoming successful in life. Risk takers do not stop from the fear and don’t have doubts within themselves. They become unstoppable.

4. In your Hunt for Success risk is your unwanted companion.

Risk takers understand the fact that success won’t fall in their lap. You have to pursue and chase for it. You have to take risks and be ready to sacrifice your time and effort for your dreams and goals.

When you chase success, you find seemingly rare opportunities that you may have never found without the learnings and experience from a risk.

You become active and ready to achieve your goals.

5.Every risk you takes increases your passion.

With risk comes fire, a fire that keeps pushing you to reach the end result. Every small or big risk you take, also makes you expand your capabilities.

You get ignited to reach new heights and empower yourself to be more creative and prepared to win.

6. Risk taking increase your Confidence.

With every risk comes the will to be above average and trudge into newer and undefined territories.

After you take some risks, you build a trust on yourself. You that courage to achieve your goals and with courage comes confidence and alertness. Risk taking makes you stand out as a leader.

7. Risk takers have new possibilities.

People or Entrepreneurs who don’t take risks have less opportunities then who do take risks, when needed.

But instead if you involve in risk taking and put yourself on the line, you could create a whole new set of opportunities for the future. You could see the possibilities that you haven’t even considered. And you have an open mind, always open to new possibilities.

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”– T. S. Eliot

Who are you risk-taker or dream-maker?

When you started to take calculated risks, you grow exponentially. You learn and get experience and learn all the way through.

When start risk taking you also challenge yourself and reach to your real potential. If you take the right risks and trust on yourself, it will completely change you.

There are many people who avoid any risk taking. Because It is actually more comfortable and easier to sit down and wait. Risk taking is what distinguishes the doers from the dreamers.

The moment when dreamer are sleeping and waiting for the best moment to take action, the takers have already caught the rewards. At the end of the day, Risk takers will get the success because they limit their fear of failure and are willing to put their energy when every other person is waiting.

“…maybe sometimes it’s riskier not to take a risk. Sometimes all you’re guaranteeing is that things will stay the same.” -Danny Wallace
